يوجد بداخل الجهاز الجيل السابع من معالجات إنتل Core i7-7700HQ مدعوم بذاكرة عشوائية DDR4/2400 سعة 24 جيجابايت؛ لكن النسخة المقدمة في الولايات المتحدة تأتي بذاكرة عشوائية 16 جيجابايت بحد أقصى.
أهم ما يميز الجهاز هو وجود شريحة الرسوميات GeForce GTX 1080 من إنفيديا مع تكنولوجيا Max-Q التي قدمتها إنفيديا بمعرض Computex، وهي تساهم في رفع أداء شرائح الرسوميات بالحاسب المحمول مع تقليل الحرارة واستهلاك الطاقة. شرحة رسوميات GeForce GTX 1080 مع تكنولوجيا Max-Q تقدم تصميم طاقة حراري منخفض يصل إلى 90-110 وات، وفي المقابل فأن شريحة رسوميات GeForce GTX 1080 التقليدية يمكن أن تصل الحرارة إلى 150 وات.

Keyboard and mouse
The GX501 comes with a Chiclet keyboard, which was moved to the front of the computer; and because of the lack of space for wrist comfort, Asus added a small unit in the box. The keyboard does not provide illumination for each button, but the trackpad on the right side provides comfort for the wrist.
The trackpad site is not new, as Razer and MSI have previously provided, with 10 virtual buttons.
